About Castle Training

Castle has been set up by Peter Burton and Paul Dodsworth who have almost 50 years’ experience in the estate planning sector. Peter has worked as a trainer and compliance manager for a number of companies involved in estate planning and has also worked in a similar capacity for a Building Society.

Peter is a fellow of the Institute of Professional Will Writers (IPW) and an affiliate member of the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). Peter has a passion for enabling estate planning professionals to become better.

Paul set up Estate Planning Solutions (EPS) in 2003, and is a fellow of the IPW and a TEP with STEP (diploma member exam route). Paul also sits on the council of the IPW. Paul’s passion is helping businesses work better.

Why Castle?

We’ve seen individual consultants and business owners with laudable ambitions struggle to succeed, for their clients and themselves due to a real lack of support within the industry.

It’s been proven that we only understand and retain a very limited amount when being lectured too, even where audio visual methods are introduced levels are still low (between 5- 20%) whereas the collaborative approaches yield far better results (50-90%) over time.

So, a mixed approach to learning must be adopted by those who want to understand and be able to communicate clearly to clients.

We recognise that passing on entry examination to a professional organisation such as the IPW is only the starting point. We also know that despite some great training courses run by professional bodies and training companies, the support that individuals and businesses need isn’t really there.

And passing an exam or two doesn’t necessarily prepare individuals properly for a career, rich with rewards but also fraught with complications. Castle offer a ‘hands on’ and bespoke support and mentoring programme to help new start-ups, or fledgling businesses looking to become more effective and financially successful.
